PORTLAND — PIR
perennial Christian Tresser (Cyclepath) and Veloforma’s Lisa
Reeve are well on their way to getting Garmin prizes to go along
with the leaders’ jerseys awarded to the PIR Monday Night
monthly overall series winners. Strava.com donated
a Garmin 305 unit and an annual membership to Strava for the
overall winners in the Masters 1/2/3 and Open Women’s races.
August features five
weeks of racing, and both Reeve and Tresser took the top spots
Monday night, adding to their seemingly insurmountable leads
with just two races remaining. Reeve leads Lana Atchley (Milani/Albibici)
by 37 points and third-placed rider Mindy Simmons (Hammer Velo)
by 38. Tresser has racked up a 31 point lead over second-place
rider Paul Zagacki (BicycleAttorney) and a 32 point gap over Joe
Martin (Veloce Racing).
In other categories,
Scott Mares (Verge) Leads Aaron Aikin (Team Oregon/Laurelwood
Brewery) by five points in the Masters 4/5 race. The closest
races of the August series are taking place in the novice
events, with Word-RCB’s Catherine Cooper and unattached rider
Sandra Clark sharing the women’s overall lead with 29 points
each. Mike Owens and Dustin Harder (Harder Cycling) lead the
Novice men’s race series at 31 points.
Veloforma's Lisa Reeve
has notched 58 points against PIR Open Women's competition this
month. Lana Atchley (Milani/Albibici) is second overall
with 21 points. File Photo.
