cyclist Davide
Frattini from the Colavita/Sutter Home professional cycling
team. A major force throughout the year 2007, Davide
enjoyed wins at the
Mt Holly-Smithville Invitational Grand Prix and
the Charm City Cyclocross.
Davide earned a degree in optics
in his hometown of Varese, Italy. His father was a cycling coach
and his two older brothers became successful cyclists, so it was
natural for him to follow. Davide is a household name in Italy,
having won the “Baby” Giro D’Italia in 2001, before moving on to
the European professional ranks with Team Alessio. Other career
highlights include wins at the 2004 La vuelta de
Bisbee and 2006 Captech Classic.
In the off-season, Davide
returns home to compete in European cyclo-cross. He has raced
for the Italian National Team as a junior, under-23 and Elite
cyclo-cross rider. When he needs a break, he does so “Italian
style” -- shopping, cooking, and relaxing.
Davide has previously ridden
with Team Alessio and Team Monex and was a member of the 2005
and 2006 Italian National Cyclo-Cross Teams at the World Cups
and World Championships.
