Daniel Rudge,
Team "Making Cancer History" - Race Across AMerica 2008
(RAAM). As a “Solo” rider he will set out to cover
the 3,008 miles between Oceanside, CA and Annapolis, MA in the
allotted 12 days (www.raceacrossamerica.org) or less. Daniel is one of two racers riding for Team
“Making Cancer History” in support of MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital,
one of the US’s premier hospitals for the treatment and care of children with
cancer.
Daniel has been racing in multiple endurance sports
at a representative level for almost 30 years and
qualified for Solo RAAM in his first season of
ultra-distance riding and first RAAM qualification
race. Daniel joined Team Making Cancer History in
2007 on the 8 person Corporate Challenge team. He is
a Chartered Civil Engineer (U.K.) and holds a S.M.
in Ocean Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of
Technology and a B.Eng. in Offshore (Civil)
Engineering from Heriot-Watt University (U.K.) and
is employed by Shell International Exploration and
Production Inc. in Houston. Daniel and his wife
Pauline have two daughters.
