Updates
Mr. Caliari,
Hope you're doing well. I wanted to let you know that my summer
campaign as gone very well, with a couple of wins and a few NRC
results. After Joe Martin I raced locally at the Connecticut
stage race. It was 3 stages with a over 100 riders and a
handful of local pros. I finished 2nd in the time trial by only
1 second, but managed to make a long break away stick on the
final day's road race to win the overall.
My main objectives for the season were the Nature Valley Grand
Prix and the Elite National Championships. Nature Valley went
better than I could have expected, placing 7th in the time trial
and 6th overall at one of the largest pro stage races in the
country. I was hoping to carry that success into the national
championship time trial and crossed the line in 3rd. I was
slightly disappointed not to have won the jersey, but still
happy to be on the podium. I also placed 6th in the criterium
that week, which finished in a chaotic field sprint.
A week after nationals I placed 8th in the time trial at the
Fitchburg stage race, followed by 3rd at the northeast regional
criterium championships and 15th overall at the Tour of Elk
Grove. The 4.5 mile prologue at the Tour of Elk Grove defined
the GC. I crossed the line in a time of 8:42, but unfortunately
so did 5 other riders! If I had gone just 1 second faster I
would have been top 10 on the stage and top 10 overall. I was
still happy with my ride and with my season as a whole.
The Selle SMP saddles have held up great through it all. It's
always nice to be able to train and race without any
discomfort. Well, without saddle discomfort, the rest of my
body still hurts!
Thanks for everything,
Bobby Sweeting |

Subject: Race Updates
It's been a good
spring of racing and I just wanted to give you a quick update.
I was able to win
the criterium de bethel, another race in the Bethel spring
series, and placed well in the rest of the events. In the end
it was good enough to take the overall win and give me some
confidence leading into Joe Martin.
At Joe Martin I had
the full support of my team and never placed outside of the top
5 on a stage. I won the second stage's road race and took the
overall win after a technical final criterium.
Coming up next is
the Connecticut Stage Race, Nature Valley Grand Prix, Elite
Nationals, and the Fitchburg Longsjo Classic. This will be a
great summer of racing and I'll be sure to keep you updated
along the way. Thanks again for everything!
Sincerely,
Bobby Sweeting |

Mr. Caliari,
Attached are a couple of photos from the Ronde de Bethel last
Sunday. I took advantage of being in a new state, got away on
the first lap, and soloed 80 minutes to take the win! Thanks
again for everything, I'll be sure to keep you updated.
Sincerely,
Bobby Sweeting |
