Albabici
and SMP are pleased to announce their sponsorship of
the Fremont Bank Cycling Team. The team is an elite level
development program with a unique combination of goals. Reigning District Road
Race Champion, Susannah Breen, and bike industry veteran, Mark Deterline,
recognized a void in Northern California bike racing and decided that more emphasis should be placed on
developing female and male riders in their late teens, 20’s and 30’s. “We realized that most area teams focused on Masters cycling—riders
35 or older,” says Breen. “To support young talented riders—especially
women—we felt it was important for us to diversify our team to include
riders ages 18 to 34.” Andy Mastorakis, President of Fremont Bank and a Masters racer himself, has been involved in bike
team sponsorship for several years. “Part of Fremont Bank’s charter is
to contribute in many different ways to our community. We wholeheartedly
support our local program and appreciate Mark and Susannah’s vision,” adds Mastorakis.
